Lined with vicious bunkers and seemingly impenetrable rough, how will the pros fare as they make their way around Oakmont Country Club this week?
Tour News
The DP World Tour returned to France over the weekend for the annual Open de France, taking place at Le Golf National. The championship course located just outside of Paris is no stranger to hosting world-class talent having been the sports ground of choice for the Olympics golf events just a few months ago.
A handful of Brits and Danes made their way into the top 5 with Englishman Dan Bradbury securing his second tour victory, winning by a single stroke.
Come the midpoint of the final round multiple players were striking the ball well and vying for the lead. Bradbury made consecutive birdies on the 14th, 15th, and 16th holes to pull ahead of the pack, and finished on a couple of pars. This ending performance of 66 was enough for him to watch his competitors fall just shy of his 16-under-par final score.
Thorbjørn Olesen, Yannick Paul, Sam Bairstow, and Jeff Winther all finished joint second on 15-under-par. The victory saw Bradbury overtake Shane Lowry’s position in the Race to Dubai and has him standing in 25th place.
The 25-year-old from Wakefield was thrilled with his performance, winning the Open de France ensures his qualification for the season-ending play-off events in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
“The goal this week was to make the cut so I don’t have to go to Korea and try to keep my card, to be honest with you, so to hear that sounds pretty good. I guess I’ll be looking at flights to Dubai then.”
Dan Bradbury’s first DP World Tour victory was at the Joburg Open in 2022, where he had a phenomenal start to his career by winning on his third start since turning professional. With another win under his belt, could he have greater achievements on the way?
